A Greenville man will spend the next 3 decades in prison for sexual assault and other crimes. The 13th Circuit Solicitors Office says 29 year old, Uriel Romero-Gonzalez pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery and burglary.
The charges stem from a 2019 incident in which Romero-Gonzalez broke into a woman's apartment and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint while her baby was present in the home.
Romero-Gonzalez left the scene with the victim's cell phone and purse, but he dropped a cell phone inside the room. The victim used that cell phone to call 9-1-1. Romero-Gonzalez had been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
