A Greenwood man has been sentenced to prison after causing a drunken disruption on an international flight. The U.S. Attorney's Office says 52 year old, Michael Shane Orndoff Jr. caused a flight from Atlanta to South Korea to be diverted due to intoxication and violent behavior.
Court documents say Orndoff was cut off after having several drinks while on the flight. He then tried to get other passengers to purchase alcohol for him. Eventually, Orndoff stole a bottle of wine and locked himself in a bathroom and returned to his seat with the empty bottle.
He then reportedly chased a woman to the front of the plane, pounded on the door of the cockpit, and demanded to be served more alcohol. The flight was then diverted to Anchorage Alaska where Orndorff was arrested.
Officials say, his blood alcohol content was over two times the legal limit. Orndorff has been sentenced to two years in federal prison.
