Ahead of Tuesday night's Greer City Council meeting, Mayor Rick Danner and City Administrator Andy Merriman are trumpeting a one-hundred-million-dollar investment. Officials say the investment will keep the community on the leading edge of the region's new economy.
The "ForGreer" initiatives include a new fire station in the Groce Meadow Road area, a public safety police & fire training facility on Hood Road, and a new 500-space parking garage on Depot Street.
The fourth project is a sixty million sports and events center. That was announced at a news conference, Tuesday morning. The Greer City Council will vote on the funding at their regularly scheduled Council Meeting Tuesday evening at 6:30.
