Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis was a guest on the Tara Show Wednesday morning to discuss the recent THC crackdown in the area.
Earlier this month, Sheriff Lewis announced arrests at four Greenville vape shops after announcing just days before that a crackdown on THC products was on the way.
“Part of the issue we’ve had here is products are being sold that are well above the 0.3% that’s allowed by law under our hemp law,” Sheriff Lewis said. “But it has to be labeled properly. People need to know what they’re buying. The 0.3% THC is what’s important. We’ve been finding things that are well above that.”
He explained that the responsibility of products being sourced at the wrong levels falls on the local businesses and are likely a result of sourcing products outside of wholesalers.
