
The Greenville County School System is set to induct its 2021 Hall Of Fame Class tonight. The inductees for this year’s class include Olympic Medalist Sandi Morris, Greenville Mayor Knox White, Poet Glenis Redmond, Former Teach Bill Evans, standout athlete and noted attorney Ernie Hamilton, Dr. Chuck Welch and Sandra Welch. The Hall Of Fame Gala is set for 6 PM Thursday, The Greenville Convention Center is the host venue.
Sandi Morris headlines the class, she's a Greenville Native who won the Silver in the Pole Vault at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Mayor Knox White is a Greenville High alumnus and has served as Greenville's Mayor since first elected in 1995. Glenis Redmond is a published poet and artist who graduated from Woodmont. Bill Evans taught for nearly 30 years at Hillcrest High School. Ernie Hamilton was a state championship athlete at Joseph Beck High and later became a noted attorney. He was the 1st black solicitor in the history of the 13th Circuit office. Dr. Chuck and Sandra Welch were both administrators in various Greenville County Schools. They combined to serve in the school system for over 100 years.
