A historic building in Western North Carolina was damaged after a lightning strike caused a fire, last week. The Old Fort Department responded to the area of West Main Street, last Thursday evening.
When firefighters arrived they saw a house fire across the street, nobody was inside the at the building at the time.
Crews say the cause of the fire appeared to be a lightning strike. The building has stood since being built in the 1880's and suffered significant damage in the fire.
