Illegal immigrant charged after public transit stabbing in Charlotte

An arrest has been made after another stabbing on public transit in Charlotte in recent months. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department 33 year old, Oscar Solorzano-Garcia was arrested after a stabbing on a commuter train in the Queen City, Friday afternoon.

Police say, the victim was injured and was taken to a hospital to be treated. As of Sunday, he was said to be in critical but stable condition. Solorzano is charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and other crimes.

Court records show, Solorzano is an illegal immigrant from Honduras and has been deported from the country twice.

The stabbing comes nearly 4 months after Ukranian refugee Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed on a Charlotte commuter train in an unrelated incident.
