A project to rehab one of Greenville's most prominent landmarks is underway. Major improvements are set for the Church Street Bridge over East Broad Street in Downtown Greenville.
The SCDOT says the deck of the bridge is deteriorating. The project will address that issue as well as storm drainage.
The improvements will include expanding the West side of the sidewalk to 9 foot wide, new overhead lighting, upgrades to the railing and replacement of the stair system to McBee Street.
Drivers are reminded that the project may heavily affect traffic in the area.
