Children who were playing discovered skeletal remains in Anderson, Sunday afternoon. Officials were called to Lawrence Road in Anderson County after children playing near a creek reportedly discovered a skull.
Multiple agencies responded to the Homeland Park area to assist in the search for additional skeletal remains. Investigators say, an additional 40-50 bones were found in the area.
Though further testing is needed, the Coroner's Office said the remains could be 5-10 years old. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office have not released further details at this time, as the investigation is still in the early stages.
