The City of Greenville held a Juneteenth Celebration at the newly opened Unity Park. Dr. Gail Wilson- Awan from the Urban League Of The Upstate was one of the speakers at the event.
The Reverend Stacey Mills of Mountain View Baptist Church in Greenville also addressed the crowd gathered at Unity park. Below are comments from Wilson-Awan and Rev. Mills from the event.

A new mural of the late E.B. Holloway and his wife Hattie was unveiled as part of the celebration. Holloway was one of Greenville's civil rights pioneers and was instrumental in the first efforts to establish the park in the historically black Southernside neighborhood.
