A suspect is injured after a deputy involved shooting, Thursday night in the Upstate. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy noticed a suspicious person while responding to another call, around 11PM.
The suspects as openly carrying a knife near Reidville Road and Nazareth Church Road. The deputy made contact with the individual and a shooting then took place.
The suspect who has not been identified was injured and taken to Spartanburg Regional to be treated. There's be no update on the victim's condition.
The deputy was not injured and has been placed on administrative leave. SLED is investigating which is standard protocol in officer involved shootings, statewide.
