A judge has dismissed a lawsuit regarding a developer and their plans to build on a former plantation site. The suit claims that a plot of land about 5 miles from Pendelton is on the the gravesite of former slaves.
Last August, a judge stopped plans for a housing development there after the Anderson County Planning Commission had approved them.
Then in November. a judge sent the the issue back to the planning commission to require testing to see if there were unmarked graves on the site.
One of the people involved in the suit says an independent study of the site did find unmarked graves on the site.
