The plan for a new RV park in the Upstate looks to be moving forward despite push back from some residents. A judge has decided to reinstate a permit for the proposed development in Spartanburg County.
That move marks progress in the process for a company called Blue Sky Associates, which is the developer on the project. The legal debate centers around the septic tank permit for the site, which was granted by DHEC in the summer of 2021.
A group of homeowners near the proposed site on Landrum Mill Road, then filed for a review of the permit. They feel the park would have a negative impact on the environment and that the park's septic system would not be able to handle the volume of sewage the site would produce.
The opposing group has already filed an appeal on the judge's decision for reinstatement.
