An 11 year old girl from the Upstate has been located about 500 miles away after after investigators say she was kidnapped. As we previously reported, Ruby Guevara was reported missing after last being seen the night of May 5th at a home in Gray Court.

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office began investigating and found out that she was likely with 21 year old, Rafael Garcia. SLED was called into assist but the case moved across state lines and the FBI joined the search.

On Monday the girl was found safely in Prince George County, Maryland about 20 miles southeast of Washington, DC. Guevara was with Garcia and his family when she was found. Garcia was arrested on charges of kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Garcia is being held in Maryland and is awaiting extradition back to Laurens County, where officials say more charges are expected.
