(Walhalla, SC) The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is today announcing the arrest of a Seneca man on three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – 3rd Degree.
22 year old William Schyler Ferguson was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 5:10pm Wednesday after being transported by deputies from the Warrants Division from the McCracken County Detention Center in Paducah, KY to Oconee County. Ferguson was also served with a General Sessions Bench Warrant.
A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division received information, and was first informed, on April 17th of last year concerning allegations of inappropriate touching involving Ferguson and three separate victims.
The investigation was turned over to the Child/Elder Abuse investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division. As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Ferguson inappropriately touched the three victims sometime between the time period of April of 2017 and May of 2018.
Ferguson was given a combined $60,000 personal recognizance bond on the three Sheriff’s Office charges. At this time, Ferguson remains in custody at the Detention Center and will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device as a condition of bond should he be released.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation and in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of the victims, the Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any further information, including any and all information that could potentially identify the victims in the case.
