A suspect in custody in connection to the death of an Upstate child has requested bond. As we previously reported, 28 year old Tyler David Ternberg was arrested in early January for homicide by child abuse.
The charge came after four year old Addison Carr died at an Upstate hospital, the day after Christmas. The girl had special needs and had been hospitalized days earlier.
An autopsy revealed that the child had suffered injuries from blunt force trauma. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says Ternberg was dating the girl's mother and was caring for the child when the injuries occurred.
Ternberg was originally denied bond, he appeared in Circuit Court Friday to request that bond be set. The judge said that he will likely rule on the matter next week.
