The suspect charged with the larges mass murder in the history of one Upstate County was in court, Friday.
James Douglas Drayton is accused of killing five people at a home in Inman in 2022. He fled the scene and was apprehended in Georgia, a day after the murders.
The five killed in the incident include Thomas Anderson, Roman Rocha, Adam Morley, James Baldwin and Mark Hewitt.
Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty for Drayton. He pleaded guilty to avoid execution. Drayton has been sentenced to five consecutive life sentences.
