A man is facing charges after police say he brought a gun onto the Charlotte Light Rail platform. 28 year old, Thomas Paul was charged with possession of a weapon on city property.
Police responded to a report of an armed man on the platform on the city's South End. They found Paul with a pistol in his waist band, pepper spray and handcuffs.
He told police that he's a security officer and had the gun for his job and personal protection. Paul was located in the same area where 23 year old, Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was stabbed to death, last month.
