The man who was charged with making a bomb threat that led to the shutdown of the Upstate's busiest highway earlier this year, has pleaded guilty.
As we previously reported, Jordanian immigrant Ahmad Jamal Alhendi was arrested in January of this year. Alhendi was pulled over while driving a tractor-trailer on I-85 near White Horse Road. The incident led to the shutdown of I-85 in both directions in that stretch for hours.
A search was conducted and no bomb or credible threat was found. Alhendi was in court Wednesday and pleaded guilty to a charge of breach of peace. He had been in custody since January and was sentenced to time served. However, ICE then took Alhendi into their custody.
