One person is dead after being hit by a train in Gaffney, Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says 43 year old, Furman Edward Henderson Jr. was laying on the outside rail of the track, just before 930 Friday night.
The train conductor reportedly blew the horn several times, but Henderson did not move. Fowler's report says Henderson was dragged by the train nearly 50 feet, before being knocked off the track.
The Norfolk Southern freight train was traveling from Charlotte to Atlanta, when the crash occurred.
