A suspect is wanted for grand theft and fraud after a man deposited a stolen check at a Spartanburg credit union. Police say in Late March a man deposited a check from the U.S. Treasury for over $36,000.
Police say the check was stolen from U.S. Customs after it was written to Mercedes-Benz of Sandy Springs, Georgia. Police say the man withdrew more than $26,000 in the days following the deposit.
Police say they believe they have identified the suspect, but have not announced further details.
