Marrying at age 14?
Lawmakers in North Carolina want to change the state's controversial marriage laws - which allow people to get married as young as 14 years old. A new bill would raise that minimum age to 16, and also make it illegal for a 16-year-old to marry someone older than 20. North Carolina is one of 13 U.S. states that allow children under the age of 16 to get married with a judge's approval. The bill passed the state House unanimously last week and now heads to the Senate.
