Governor Henry McMaster was in Greenville Tuesday to speak to the Rotary Club of Greenville.
At the meeting, he spoke on the economic growth of the state over the last several years, specifically looking to the growing businesses in the state and the companies moving to South Carolina.
After the meeting, the governor also shared with us his thoughts ahead of Wednesday night’s first GOP presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle.
He spoke highly of the two South Carolina candidates participating in the debate, Tim Scott and Nikki Haley, but he also explained that he is a continued supporter of former President Donald Trump.
"It'll be a very interesting debate," McMaster said. "South Carolina will have two of ours there with Tim Scott and Nikki Haley. I know they're gonna do well. Of course, I've been for President Trump; I have been and will be. I think he's the best man for the job."
The governor also spoke at the former President’s Fourth of July campaign rally in the Upstate earlier this month.
You can listen to the full GOP debate live starting at 9pm tonight on 98.9 WORD or through the player here on our website.
