A suspect is in custody after a murder in the Midlands early Friday morning. The Richland County Sheriff's Department responded to a reported shooting at a home on Green Rose Road in Columbia.
Deputies arrived and found a woman who had been shot multiple times. She was pronounced dead at the scene. However, the woman's identity has not been released as of this time.
Investigators say the suspect 48 year old, James Taylor was also found at the scene. He was taken into custody and is charged with murder and a weapons violation.
