An event was held in Spartanburg yesterday to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hundreds of people gathered Monday morning at Thornton Activity Center.
The group honored King's memory by having a day of service. Volunteers cleaned out flower beds and pulled weeds, while others projects included cleaning up nature trails.
The event was hosted by the United Way of the Piedmont which has hosted the MLK Day of service for over a decade.
