A two vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Spartanburg County killed one person and injured another. The crash happened on Highway 14 near Owl Nest Road just south of Landrum.
The Highway Patrol says, 77 year old Joe Dean Smith of Campobello was traveling east on Highway 14 when he crossed the center line and hit another driver head on.
Smith was injured and taken to a hospital, the other driver was identified as 69 year old Len Foongpeng of Landrum. Foongpeng was flown to Spartanburg Regional and later died there from injuries suffered in the crash. Smith was charged for crossing the center line.
