Details have now been released following a fatal wreck in the Upstate Tuesday morning . The South Carolina Highway Patrol says that one person is dead following a collision involving a moped and a semi-truck. The crash occurred just after 6:30AM Tuesday on Hwy 101 near Greenpond Road less than two miles from Woodruff.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway reports that the driver of a moped was pronounced dead at the scene after being rear ended by the Semi Truck. The driver of the truck was not injured, the Highway Patrol says the driver of the moped was not wearing a helmet. The Highway Patrol did not release the identity but did say the deceased was from Woodruff and was 33 years old.
