Three more residential fires have occurred in the Upstate, as the cold weather has brought an uptick in the number of blazes, the area has seen in recent days.
The first of the trio of most recent fires, happened Christmas night in Laurens County. Officials there say, flames ripped through and destroyed a home there. Neighbors say, the blaze was so strong that the smell of smoke was still lingering as of Wednesday.
The 2nd fire was reported in Anderson County on Tuesday night. Crews from the Cheddar, Williamston, West Pelzer and Whitefield fire departments all responded to a home on Richard Chapman Road. That fire caused heavy damage to the home and a Gofundme has been set up for the family.
The most recent blaze happened around 630 Wednesday night in Spartanburg County. The Boiling Springs Fire Department responded to the Village Of Mills Gap Apartments.
Firefighters say, when they arrived a small fire on the second floor was mostly extinguished by the building's sprinkler system. Crews from the Mountain View and Cherokee Springs Fire Departments also responded to assist.
No injuries were reported in any of those fires and the cause of each of them are still under investigation. That now makes six house fires reported in the Upstate in less than a week.
