A year-long drug trafficking investigation has led to more than 30 arrests in the Upstate and Western North Carolina. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office partnered with several local agencies and the DEA in the operation.
In addition to the arrests, 30 pounds of drugs and 20 guns were seized. Two of those arrested, Tyrone Featherstone and Andre Whiteside, both of Hendersonville, were identified as major sources for fentanyl, meth and other drugs.
Officials say, 10 search warrants were executed last week in Buncombe and Grenville Counties uncovering trafficking amounts of fentanyl, meth and cocaine.
Featherstone is charged with trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, conspiracy to traffic and multiple other crimes. Whiteside was arrested for trafficking, conspiracy and multiple other charges. Dozens of others were arrested on drug and conspiracy charges.
