A Midlands woman has been arrested after her teenage allegedly shot and killed another teenager, last month. The Richland County Sheriff's Department says a 14 year old boy shot and killed a 15 year old at a home in Columbia, just before 3AM on December 16th.
Deputies say, dispatch got a call from a woman they believed to be the shooter's mother two hours after the shooting, to report a dead body at her home.
On Monday, the Sheriff's Department arrested the mother 48 year old, Patrice Johnson. She's charged with trying to help cover up the shooting. It's the 2nd such arrest in Richland County's initiative to hold parents accountable for crimes their children commit.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said "People like this should be held accountable and that's what we're doing. We are just going after those who are allowing their teenagers to be involved in crime and helping them".
This comes following a string of shooting and the killing of a K9 Deputy in Richland County, which we are all allegedly perpetrated by teenagers.
