An increased reward has been offered ib an Upstate murder case that remains unsolved 18 months after the fact. In the summer of 2020, 28 year old Marquis Richey was shot at his home in Greer, he later died from his injuries at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

On Friday, Greer Police Chief Matt Hamby held a press conference announcing a new ten thousand dollar reward for information leading to an arrest. The mother of Marquis Richey spoke at Friday's press conference and says her son's murder is a recurring nightmare for her family. She also spoke about the injustice it is that her son's killer is walking free and she touched the vicious cycle of violence. Her at length comments are below.
