One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in Cherokee County, yesterday Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened on Hopewell Road near Highway 5 just before 1:30PM.
The Highway Patrol says the motorcyclist ran off the road, overturned and then slide back across the road under a tow truck.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler identified the victim as 47 year old, Mark David Cook of Blacksburg.
Fowler said that witnesses reported that Cook was traveling at a high rate of speed and that he was not wearing a helmet.
