A motorcyclist died in a crash after a police pursuit in Oconee County. The wreck happened around 12:30 Tuesday morning on East Main Street in Westminster.
The crash came after two attempted traffic stops. The motorcyclist was reportedly speeding excessively when a State Trooper tried to stop him, as he traveled down Sandifer Boulevard.
The rider identified as 20 year old, Nevan Matthew Hopkins then took off, an Oconee County Deputy later tried to stop him, both pursuits were called off.
The Deputy discovered the crash site and Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene around 1AM.
