"Mountain Mayhem" WNC shooting leads to list of charges

A suspect is facing a long list of charges after mayhem in the mountains of Western North Carolina, last month. Police say, 27 year old Saul Pelcastre of Lenoir was arrested earlier this week, after a shooting in Madison County, September 21st.

An investigation following the incident led to Pelcastre being arrested on child sex crimes in addition to charges related to the shooting.

He's charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, 1st degree kidnapping, statutory rape of a child under 15 years old and indecent acts with a child.

The Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened in the town of Marshall, which is about 20 miles north of Asheville.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office has not released any further details on the case, as of the time of this report
