A mountain top traffic stop has two Western North Carolina men facing drug trafficking charges. The McDowell County Sheriff's Office says a traffic stop near Old Fort January 18th resulted in the arrest of two men.
A suspect 66 year old Lawrence Pennington Jr. was reportedly driving without a license and 53 year old, Joseph Andrew Franklin was a passenger in the vehicle.
The Sheriff's Office reports that over an ounce of meth was found inside the vehicle. Both Franklin and Pennington are charged with trafficking and intent to distribute meth.
