New Council Chair and Vice Chair for Upstate's largest county

Council
Greenville County

New leadership has been elected in the Upstate's largest county. The Greenville County Council has elected Dan Tripp as its Chairman and Liz Seman, as Vice Chair.

They have experience in county government having both served on the council for years. Tripp was the Vice Chairman, but now takes the spot of former Chair Willis Meadows , who came up short in his bid for re-election. Seman ran for Vice Chair in 2020 but was unsuccessful in her attempt.

The Post Courier reports, that Tripp's bid for Chair was brought on by Councilman Ennis Fant approaching Tripp and lending his support. That came about after the two had a heated debate during a council meeting, in the early part of 2022. The council's 1st meeting under the new leadership is set for January 24th.
