New complaints have been filed in federal court in the ongoing sexual abuse scandal involving Rockstar Cheer. The filings accuse the Greenville County cheer gym and its governing body, Varsity Spirit of allowing sexual abuse to run wild over the course of two decades.
The newly filed accusations say, that policies to protect young athletes were not enforced. Varsity Spirit has denied any wrongdoing or involvement in the scandal. The now deceased Rockstar Founder Scott Foster and coaches working for him are accused of sexually abusing minors both in Greenville County and when they traveled out of state for competitions governed by Varsity Spirit.
As we previously reported, Foster was found dead at Paris Mountain State Park, after committing suicide shortly after learning he was being investigated by the Department Of Homeland Security. The new allegations fall under the federal RICO statutes due to the organizations financially benefitting from the alleged illegal activity and from it taking place in various states. Columbia Based Strom law Firm filed three of the four RICO based complaints, earlier this week.
