The panel in charge of what goes up in downtown Greenville is considering the case Thursday for a new building that would dominate the city's skyline.
The developers who re-fashioned the former BB&T building to "Canvas," with its massive mural, wants to build a nineteen-story glass and steel structure next door.
The high-ground location just off Academy Street between Buncombe and College Streets would make the 225-foot tower a prominent landmark rivaling the tallest in town.
It'll be a mixed-use commercial and residential project featuring a relatively small amount of retail space with 264 so-called "market rate' apartments. But a 480-space parking garage will probably be its biggest plus for Design Review Board approval.
