A partnership between the Table 301 restaurant group and Youth Apprenticeship Carolina leads to culinary apprenticeships for six Greenville students.

A ceremony was held Thursday afternoon to mark the first six students signing on to apprenticeships with restaurants in the Table 301 group as part of a new program where they can work directly under industry mentors to gain real experience and professional and college credits.

The opportunity rose from a partnership between Table 301 and Youth Apprenticeship Carolina as a need for talented and experienced individuals was made apparent, a need compounded by the current labor shortages.

One student said she has always wanted to work in culinary and that this program has been an enjoyable experience so far, having worked up through many areas of the professional kitchen.
