A New Year's eve crash has now turned fatal. A passenger in a two vehicle collision in Anderson County succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash.The collision happened around 7:15 the night of December 31st on Highway 153 and Old Pendelton Road about 4 miles west of Powdersville.
The Highway Patrol says the driver of a Toyota sedan was traveling northbound on 153 and attempted to turn on Old Pendelton Road when they were struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on 153. Both drivers were injured in the crash, and the passenger in the Toyota died at an area hospital Tuesday. The Highway Patrol says the driver of the Toyota has been cited for failure to yield.
