As the race for Governor in South Carolina heats up, another candidate has emerged. Businessman Rom Reddy has recently announced his Gubernatorial campaign. Reddy was a guest on the Charlie James Show ,Thursday afternoon.
He says he's running because South Carolina needs to return to its conservative roots. Reddy commented on a South Carolina Highway being named after former President Barack Obama. Reddy jokingly said "Yeah take the exit off of the Barack Obama Highway South to Ron Desantis's Florida".
The rules for most gubernatorial debates state that the candidates raise a certain amount of donor funding to qualify. Reddy has pledged to use his own money for the campaign, saying he won't take a dime from donors. He then responded to that disqualifying him from being part of those debates. Reddy called the events "ruling class debates".
Reddy has joined an already GOP Primary field that includes some of the Palmetto's State heaviest political hitters.
