There’s a new organization in Greenville centered on providing informational resources to Upstate moms.

The Greenville Mom Collective is a website that launched at the beginning of February. It’s similar to a blog, posting articles by Upstate mothers about parenting and being a mother and sharing information on upcoming local family-oriented events.

The organization is part of a larger over 100-website national organization, the City Mom Collective, and Greenville Mom Collective creator Natalie Welanetz used to write for the Columbia branch.

"About four years ago, I was a contributor for the Columbia Moms Network," Welanetz said. "I wrote for them for just over a year and then moved back home to the Upstate and had been here for a couple of years. I kept in touch with the folks in Columbia and around the country and really just missed the team that we had there and the access to things to do for families. And so got the idea to start that up here to kind of bring that same feeling from Columbia to the Upstate for moms here."

The website, Welanetz said, has already gained some online traffic, and she is hoping to expand their roster of website contributors.

"It's been a big hit so far," Welanetz said. "A lot of moms have been really excited to have, you know, one place that they can come and talk with other moms, and so it's been a good thing so far."
