A North Carolina man is in custody after allegedly robbing an Upstate discount store, Tuesday morning. Deputies responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the Spartanburg County community of Arcadia, around 10 AM.
The suspect had fled in his vehicle the area prior to deputies arriving. The get away vehicle was later spotted and led deputies on a pursuit. The suspect identified as, 23 year old Joshua Nathan Koiyan of Charlotte later crashed his vehicle behind a restaurant in Lyman.
Koiyan was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. He's charged with Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and multiple weapons violations.
