More charges filed in an Oconee County animal cruelty case.

In August of this year, three Salem South Carolina residents were arrested and charged with, in total, 75 counts of ill-treatment of animals.

At that time, 79 animals were seized from the property of Ann and William Hill and James Gaskill, Jr. They were arrested on August 5, 2024.

Recent developments have led to additional charges against the three according to Corporal Jimmy Watt with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.  A search warrant executed on their North Little River Road home last week, uncovered unsanitary living conditions and 19 more animals were seized, including 15 Chihuahuas.

The warrant said the animals were knowingly and intentionally deprived of necessary care resulting in pain and suffering.

The trio now faces nearly 30 additional ill-treatment of animals charges.

Only Gaskill, Jr. remains in jail.  Ann and William Hill were released on bond after the arrests .
