Oconee County car explosion sends one to Augusta Burn Center

An Oconee County emergency services official says some kind of explosion erupted from a car in the parking lot of the BorgWarner plant on Wells Highway in Seneca Monday, causing a fire that spread to two other vehicles.

The driver of one of them was injured so severely he was flown to Georgia's Augusta Burn Center for treatment. Seneca firefighters got the call reporting an explosion and fire about 5:30. They're still trying to determine what caused it.
