(Walhalla, SC) The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two males and one female yesterday on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop.
36 year old Amber Rose Rumsey, 53 year old David Allen Abbott and 70 year old Douglas Kay Stewart, all of Seneca, were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 5:48pm, 5:55pm and 6:29pm respectively yesterday on Temporary Custody Order’s until arrest warrants were issued today.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division were conducting follow-up investigations regarding cases in the Keowee School Road area when investigators discovered a vehicle with a busted windshield. The driver of the vehicle also committed traffic violations. The investigators also observed a subject throw a clear plastic baggy out of one of the windows of the vehicle.
The baggy was collected by investigators and a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was occupied by Rumsey, Abbott and Stewart, was conducted on Keowee School Road near Bent Creek Lane. A search of the vehicle was conducted by investigators and a quantity of narcotics was located inside of the vehicle as well as on the person of Rumsey.
All three subjects were transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. While at the Detention Center, an additional quantity of narcotics was located on the person of Rose. Based upon the additional evidence obtained, Rumsey was charged with another count of Trafficking in Methamphetamine as well as a charge of Furnishing Contraband into a Detention Facility.
At this time, Rumsey, Abbott and Stewart remain in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
