Heroics from an off duty cop at a store in the Midlands over the weekend, diffused what could have been a deadly situation. Forest Acres Police Office Treyvon Warren was at a Columbia area Walmart Sunday around 2 PM, when he stepped in to disarm a man involved in a fight inside the store.
The Richland County Sheriff's Office says, 26 year old Jefferson Holliday was fighting with another man, when Holliday pointed a gun at the unidentified man and the officer. Warren then wrestled the gun away from the suspect.
The other suspect who was determined to be the original aggressor fled the scene. No shots were fired and no serious injuries were suffered by the suspects or Officer Warren.
Holliday was arrested and faces charges for multiple weapons violations and aggravated breach of peace.
As of the time of this report, police in the Midlands were still searching for the other suspect.
