A body has been found in the area where Pickens County authorities have been searching for a missing man, who suffers from dementia. Deputies were called to investigate a strange odor in 3100 block of Pumpkintown Highway north of Pickens, just after 9PM Thursday night.
Deputies then discovered a body in a wooded area, several hundred yards from the rental home of 80 year old Francis Alward, who reported missing on June 29th. Investigators were not able to identify the body due to its advanced decomposition.
