An Upstate man is dead after an apparent domestic dispute led to a shooting in Anderson. The Anderson Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the area of the Double Oak Court Apartments near Highway 76, around 3:15 PM Monday.
Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. The deceased has been identified as 33 year old, Jamiah Sentell Carson. Anderson Police Chief Jim Stewart said the shooting seems to have stemmed from a domestic issue.
The Coroner's Office has ruled Carson's death a homicide. Police say one person was taken into custody for questioning. However no arrests have been announced, as of the time of this report.
