One driver dead, another airlifted to the hospital from the scene of a head-on collision in Anderson County early Wednesday. The Highway Patrol reports the driver of a Ford Ranger crossed the centerline on Highway 24 and hit a Chevy Equinox near the intersection with Wham Road six miles west of Anderson.

The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck shortly after 1:30 AM Wednesday.. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The driver of the SUV is being treated at Prisma Health in Greenville.
